Quatrofolio Architects had to create a sustainable landscape where design is more than the conscious arrangement of outdoor space for the Riviera A inhabitant enjoyment and satisfaction. It is a landscape that uses minimal water, fertilizers, pesticides, labor, and building materials.
The goal of the Landscape Concept is to provide a sustainable design responding to the Compound’s need of a specific recreational and leisure area to serve the inhabitant.
A thorough site analysis helped us enhance the Riviera A Compound, as it tells us what we have to work with on the Compound’s site. The site analysis has shed new light and a comprehensive understanding of conditions, especially in the area of its location, Jeddah:
Climate, Sun and Shade, Existing light, Moisture, Soil conditions.
Not only intangible elements are to be considered, the needs and preferences of people who will use the landscape and the age of family members in the Compound are of great importance and define the aspect of the design and the hardscape elements to be used.
The incorporated design establishes a sense of dynamism and energy through all its components from the swimming pool to the kid’s pool to the kiosk along with the shading structures, but most of all through the link between all these functions, a link that circulates, that does not break and is translated not only in drawings but also in three dimensional spaces, volumes and their intersections.
The idea in the public area is to draw lines that run through the space, create levels by evolving around the sitting areas, shaping the built-in benches and continue by elevating umbrellas like a tornado rotating around a column of light and air and composing something like Shading Structure!
The idea is articulating these lines and joining them when needed to indicate direction or separate them to create a space of shelter or a corner to gather people.
This is a Concept that adds value to the Compound on the short and long term, meeting the needs of the client and the costumer, and provides a high level of satisfaction for both parties.
The Landscaped areas in the center of the project enhance the property and mitigate the impacts of the residences. A smart, integrated, durable, light and energetic design is this landscaping Concept design in the center of the Riviera A compound.
At the bottom of the Compound’s inhabitant there will be a sense of belonging, a delicate relationship and love to the landscape.
